A .mmf file is a Meal-Master recipe — one of the oldest recipe formats, dating back to the BBS era. It's plain text with fixed-column conventions for ingredient quantity, unit, and name. Decades of recipe archives, newsgroups, and recipe-rescue collections were stored in .mmf format.

Can MoveMyRecipes parse multi-recipe .mmf files?

Yes. A single .mmf file often contains many recipes back-to-back. We split them automatically by their header/footer markers and convert each into its own recipe in the output.

What about .mmf files inside zip archives?

Upload the zip directly. We handle Deflate-compressed zips and follow nested archive layouts up to a few levels deep (common in Internet Archive recipe-rescue collections).

Modern Deflate-compressed archives parse cleanly. Nested zips (common in Internet Archive collections) followed up to 3 levels deep.

Heads up: some pre-1995 archives use PKWARE Implode compression that PHP can't decode natively. If your zip yields zero recipes, try re-zipping with a modern tool (default macOS/Windows zip works fine).
